How to choose your baby stroller
Combination stroller, which one to choose?
A combined stroller is in fact a pack in which you will find a frame and a shell for the 2 in 1 (car seat), to which you will add a carrycot for the 3 in 1 (pram). Duo stroller or trio stroller, in general, young mothers prefer this last pack, also called travel system because it is complete. Its limit: its price and its weight.
Do we need a basket?
This is the ideal solution for a newborn baby up to about 6 months (9 kg). When lying down, the baby can sleep easily. That said, given the price difference between a 2 in 1 model and a 3 in 1 stroller, some families give up the carrycot whose use is ultimately limited, preferring to use the shell or the seat as long as it is approved "birth" and that it is adjusted in the lying position.
Do I need an extra car seat?
No, because most models of baby strollers come with a cozy (also called shell) which is attached to an adapter which is sold separately. As a result, you don't have to take the baby out of his stroller to install him in the car. Practical and usable up to 13 kg of your child. Some cradles are also authorized in cars, but not in all countries. They are also often considered dangerous. Check that this baby equipment meets your safety requirements here .
Rather city or countryside?
While most models of baby strollers are at home in the city, the result is not the same on country roads. For urban use, choose a compact and maneuverable stroller, easy to fold up and unfold as needed. If you plan to wander from the beach to the mountains with your baby, opt for an all-terrain stroller instead. It should have a sturdy frame, efficient brakes and suspensions, solid wheels, etc. Three-wheeled strollers are the most common in this category.
What about the storage in the trunk of the car?
This is a capital criterion to consider before your purchase to avoid problems once in front of your safe. If you plan to store the stroller in your car on a regular basis, make sure that its dimension when folded is suitable for the available space. Then opt for a compact, light model equipped with an easy and quick folding system.
Control the comfort of your infant stroller . Make sure the seat is padded enough to provide maximum comfort to your child. The backrest and the footrest must be able to be adjusted to offer different positions, in particular lying down. The fabrics must be removable to facilitate washing. In winter, you can add a universal stroller foot muff to keep the baby warm.
